It is astonishing to see how many innovations Corning continues to make with an age old technology of glass making.  Our tour in Corning museum of glass started with the basic ingredients for glass making: Silica, sodium and calcium.  Various exhibits show how with different techniques of cooling, stretching and cutting, and with added impurities their innovators have seen endless possibilities.  One of their exhibits – an egg shaped dome made of glass – had a peculiar property of transmitting voice across a noisy center.  Our tour ended with their revolutionary fiber optics.
